This piece was inspired by a trip to Hawaii where we swam with the turtles. They are amazing and even seemed to smile and wave at us. I used gel medium to build up texture, gold leafed the turtle shell backs, used a clear acrylic medium dripped over the top and highlighted with gold paint.
